Nexium 24HR is taken for 14 days, and as directed by your doctor. Nexium 24HR is not to be taken for more than 14 days.

The effects of Nexium generally last for several weeks to months after you start taking it. You may experience the following symptoms within a week of starting treatment with Nexium:

  • burning, itching, or irritation at the site of your Nexium tablets
  • blurred vision or sudden vision loss
  • difficulty swallowing
  • loss of appetite
  • nausea or vomiting
  • severe stomach pain

Does Nexium affect the quality of life of people taking it?

Nexium is generally well-tolerated by most people. However, some people may experience certain side effects such as:

  • nausea
  • constipation

Warnings

Do not use:

  • For children under 18 years of age.
  • If allergic to esomeprazole.

Directions

Adults 18 years, of age and over: Take 1 capsule daily for at least 7 days and up to 14 days.

Swallow the capsule whole with water, with or without food. Do not crush, chew or open the capsule. Not intended for immediate relief. It may take a few days to achieve maximum results.

Do not take for more than 14 days unless directed by a doctor.
